The Garmin tactix 8 is a tactical smartwatch with a bright 1.4-inch AMOLED display, titanium bezel and scratch-resistant sapphire lens designed for rugged outdoor use. It features an internal speaker and microphone, a built-in multicolor LED flashlight with NVG-compatible mode, and 40‑meter water resistance for recreational diving.

Navigation capabilities include multi-band GPS with SatIQ positioning, TopoActive maps, projected waypoints and Direct-to navigation for precise outdoor positioning. Tactical functions such as stealth mode, kill switch, jumpmaster, dual-position format and a dedicated rucking activity profile support mission-focused operations and privacy.

The device includes an Applied Ballistics solver for field ballistic calculations and on-board sensors — 3-axis compass, gyroscope and barometric altimeter — that improve situational awareness. Health and performance tracking covers wrist-based heart rate, Pulse Ox, sleep coaching, Body Battery energy monitoring and advanced training metrics like VO2 max and recovery.
