Marcasite was very popular during Victorian Era jewellery, and was one of Queen Victoria's favourite gemstones; she preferred them over Diamonds as they were more affordable.

Marcasite is known as White Iron Pyrite due to it's similar appears to 'Fool's Gold' Pyrite.

Early history accounts show Marcasite having been discovered in ancient Incan burial chambers.
