In January 2022, in the midst of the Corona disaster, a marvelous performance was realized at the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Space. Bizet's "L'Arles". It was a performance of the entire work with a play, which is the true form of dramatic music. Although the suite version is a well-known masterpiece, the story of Arles unfolds in a play by the great French playwright Daudet. Masahiro Sato, the conductor, has edited the script and translated it into Japanese to reflect the originally inseparable relationship between drama and music. The Opera Band, Sato's hand-picked ensemble, provides an exquisite ensemble performance in this definitive recording. (C)RS
