A Brazilian Horse Bit - Bit748This steel horse bit comes from BrazilIt has a medium height port with sleeves or rollers on each side of the mouthpiece. The turning cheeks have pierced and serrated decoration. There is a brass disc and a rounded screw head on each cheek possibly these were designed to unscrew so that the mouthpiece could be changed, but I cannot turn them. Each cheek ends in a swivelling rein loop. A shackle or slobber bar joins the cheeks at their lower ends.
